Fault Lines
(3 book series)
Book 1REVIEWED BY KAREN J. MOSSMAN

This book was presented to me on Amazon as ‘similar’ books I might like.
Well, I did. It was excellent. It is about a family, Clint, his estranged wife Daphne, and their daughter, Mika who were all in different parts of the state when the earthquake strikes.
Each person has a different chapter which tells us about how they deal with the situation they find themselves in. Just when everyone thinks the earthquake had done its worst, a tsunami arrives.
This book is an exciting read and throws all sorts of scenarios for our protagonists to deal with. I flew through the pages and it’s highly likely I’ll be reading the next one soon.
The editing was good and the story flowed making it an easy read. However, the formatting was awful. I found it off putting have blank spaces between every paragraph. Even the chapter design was unattractive.
Overall though, you get planted right into the centre of the action. That makes it an immersive read. For post apocalyptic and disaster fans this is a series to enjoy. I recommend it.
Book 2REVIEWED BY KAREN J. MOSSMAN

I loved this book. It’s easy to read, and it’s a lot of edge of your seat, nail biting action!
This time, I bought the paperback and on looking at my review of the last book where the formatting was off putting, this one was perfect.
We start the story with Daphne stuck in a multi story car park, standing on the roof of a vehicle. She is surrounded by the sea after the tsunami hits the city. Mika, her daughter is stuck on the side of a mountain, the only one left out of a mini bus of school girls and teachers. Clint, her father, and Daphne’s ex, is frantically searching for his daughter, hoping she is still alive.
As the book progresses, Clint and Mika set off for Seattle in search of Daphne. They don’t know if she survived. The chapters are dedicated to each of their points of view. Daphne was the one who held my attention the most. Her fight to get off the car park and out of the water is a desperate one.
Right at the very end of the book, the three of them are about to be reunited. I can’t wait to start the next book.
What I like best is that each story is less than 250 pages, which suits me. It’s also in Kindle Unlimited. I give this 5-stars!
Book 3REVIEWED BY KAREN J. MOSSMAN

Aftermath is the conclusion of an easily manageable three book series. All the way through it was full of action and heart stopping moments.
The story built in chapters seeing things from each of three main characters point of view as they faced constant adversity.
Mika and her Dad, Clint set out to find her mum, Daphne, whom Clint had split up from, but still loves. Aftermath continues their struggle to cross the devastation to reach the area where Daphne had been working.
Daphne on the other hand, escaped her prison of a car park and set off swimming until she is plucked from sea by an elderly seafarer who had set off in his small boat to rescue stranded people.
Good and bad folk cross their paths, as crowds of frightened, desperate people try to escape the area. The trio take risks and walk for hours trying to reach help, and all the time hoping to find each other.
There is a lot of edge of your seat, nail biting action. This made it all the more exciting because I listened to the audio book and it had three narrators. As I closed my eyes to listen, it was like watching a block buster film in my head.
To conclude, I loved it and highly recommend to readers who love high octane adventures.
As the others in the series, I give it a well deserved five stars.
