“One kiss from you only made me want more. One night with you made me need more. And one Christmas with you sure as hell wasn’t enough.”

This Christmas romcom by Mari Suggs was absolutely adorable! If you are looking for the perfect Hallmark vibe story with a a fun Christmas town, an amazing family, and a couple that you can’t help but root for, look no further!
I related so strongly to Eloise’s desire to make her family happy, even if it’s making you actively unhappy. As an oldest daughter, we want to make our family happy and proud. And it is hard to make that decision to step off the path that they choose for us and follow the dreams that we have for ourselves.
Trevor was literally the perfect person to help her make that decision. Maple Hollow is the sweetest town and I loved how they go all out for Christmas. If this is a real town, I simply must visit. Trevor and his family are amazing and I loved how they just accepted Eloise instantly and how much they supported her. The banter between Trevor and Eloise (I loved Eloise book when I was a kid, by the way!) and how hard Trevor tried to let her know that he was truly interested in her as a person.
If this book isn’t on your tbr, you need to add it right now!

Looking at a familiar place with new eyes as Tor goes to Cahokia. Ron Briggs descriptions born from actually seeing the sites of Cahokia are remarkable. His early visit in the construction of the great mound is a fresh view of the remarkable development of the site known as Cahokia. His woven narrative brings into play many theories of the reasons and possibilities that was brought up in his tours of the site.
I can see how invested in the theories and archeology of the site was brought to life in his story. His descriptions alone of the construction from the mounds to the great houses is detailed and easily visualized. I had not known some of the information he provided. I think its amazing how he weaves these facts into the story.
Tor and Cass are thrown into this tapestry in such a remarkable way that it feels organic, and like what real history would have shown. The development of the characters have grown throughout each book, they have become multifaceted. It is almost unbelievable that this is only his fifth book he has the talent of a well established author.

“You’ve expressed two important things every thoughtful human wants.” He studied her face. “To be seen and loved for who we really are.”

I had so much fun reading this collection of short stories! It introduced me to the writing of Kathleen Fuller and I will definitely be reading more of her work. And I always enjoy the writing of both Sheila Roberts and Pepper Basham.
I really enjoy the idea of falling in love during the Christmas season, perhaps because that’s the time of year that my husband and I started dating and falling in love. I also love books about falling in love when it’s least expected and second chance at love so these stories were right up my alley.
I found the characters of all three to be fun and relatable. I especially enjoyed getting a visit with Luke from Basham’s Skymar series and would love a longer book featuring Arran and Charlotte.
This set of stories was truly the perfect way to relax and get into the holiday spirit.

I enjoyed reading The Oil Change Grandpa’s Garage.
First, I was excited by the title because the garage was my dad’s playroom. He could fix anything in there, so I purchased the book thinking this would be great for my grandson, only to discover it was great for me, too. There were so many beautiful memories of my own that came rushing back from my childhood.
My grandson is young, but I will enjoy reading it to him and sharing memories. When he is older, I will even get under the car with him.
