Appropriately Modern
I was impressed with how relevant this story was for current events. It should have given me more anxiety, I suppose, but as a Christian, I know all this must come to pass. However, the story gave a new view of the dystopian trope mixed with End Times prophecies.
I enjoyed the mix of characters and plots. The contrasting story lines building the central theme complimented one another. More so, they helped deepen the realism.
This book was a strong introduction to the series. It does a wonderful job setting the stage while drawing you into the fascinating tale being woven. I’m eager to read the next installment!
