November is a time for family, histories, and sharing. It is a time for family stories and for family literacy. Traditionally, it’s the season when the cold moves in and winter takes hold. People snuggle up together with oral storytelling to pass the time and connect the community.
What are family stories? Tales about one’s ancestors, personal experiences, or the simple day to day moments we miss in our busy lives. It is a time to read together and discuss the memories our favorite books give us while making new ones.
