June & July make UFO history.
We celebrate WORLD UFO DAY June 24th and July 2nd!
July 2, 1947 is reportedly when the Roswell Incident occurred (which is the second celebration of World UFO Day).
Aviator Kenneth Arnold was out flying and reported nine UFOs near Mount Rainier in Washington State on June 24, 1947 (which is the first celebration of World UFO Day). This was the first widely reported UFO sighting and where we get the coined phrase: “flying saucer“. To make this more intriguing is that the first photos of an alleged UFO (taken by U.S. Coast Guard Yeoman Frank Ryman) were published on July 5, 1947 in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. It was only days later, on July 8th, about the Roswell Incident.
