The Burning Tree: Book 1: Salvation
Salvation was utterly incredible. Easily one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Perfectly executed with a multitude of characters. Tense situations were in abundance. The writer took our darkest fears and played on them.
The end was the start of a new adventure, and the reader could happily leave it there. Not me. I want to know what comes next. So, the next book, Rebirth has been downloaded to be read in March.

The Burning Tree: Book 2: Rebirth
This is the second book in a trilogy. An asteroid hits the earth before the first book starts . Everyone is housed in bunkers underground. Rebirth starts as they emerge into a new scorched world.
I really enjoyed this story, as the characters fears were relatable. He is the only author I know who has so many character view points. It was written in such a way that it wasn’t the least bit confusing. I loved Callie, she is sassy and clever for one so young. The other main character was Greenslade. He was the ‘baddie’, a man out for what he could gain. The total opposite to Callie who cared for everybody.
Like the first book, this story is blockbuster of a tale and I thoroughly recommend it.

The Burning Tree: Book 3: Infinity
This is the third book in the series and tells the story of what happened after the meteorite hits the earth and wipes everything out. The first book Salvation tells us about the underground bunker that many survived in. The next book is about their escape. In this one we discover that other communities also survived.
Our main group of characters are now established at the farm and building a life for themselves. When a young boy loses his leg, a party sets out on a search for antibiotics.
Cally is in the group that leads the search back to Salvation. Things don’t go to plan, and they just about escape. As they make their journey they have other encounters along the way which causes them to fight for survival. Eventually, they land in the Infinity of the book title.
The original baddy in book one, Greenslade, changed under Cally’s influence and determination. He and his sidekick Trunk, sacrificed themselves for the group. That’s what I disliked about the story. How could they do that? It put a cloud over things as I turned the page hoping for a miracle that didn’t seem to come. That was until a reached the epilogue. What a wonderful end to the story.
This is a great survival trilogy that deals with all aspects of human nature. It will appeal to those who love the human spirit and champion those who consistently try to make the world a better place.
This can’t be the end, though. I want more. There is still plenty for these characters to see and do, and I want to be part of it!

The Burning Tree: Book 4: Anarchy
Exciting and Entertaining!
This is the fourth book of The Burning Tree Series. Each of them has been terrific, and this was no exception.
Callie, a sixteen year old girl holds the community together and is the main protagonist. Phil is the brains behind the new settlement. Susan is Callie’s mother, who changed for the better after the apocalyptic experience that altered them all in some way.
I’ve never read a book with so many characters. It should have been confusing, but wasn’t in the least. In fact, I felt part of the community as I lived every moment with them.
I thoroughly enjoyed Anarchy. It tells the story of human endurance, and all its flaws. The good, the bad, and everything in between. It keeps you on the edge of the seat throughout as you really hope they make it.
Hopefully, there will be another book because I feel there is a whole lot more to tell as the fight for survival continues.
A treat for all fiction lovers.

The Burning Tree: Book 5: Redemption
Where did I find it: it’s the fifth book in the series and I’ve read each one.
What I liked: the trials and tribulations of building a community from scratch. I also enjoyed being among familiar characters again. The author likes having many people in his stories. They all play vital parts in bringing the story together. It isn’t confusing having so many, and it’s nice to see some of the lesser ones stepping forward and taking a bigger role this time.
What I didn’t like: as I felt from each book, the main character, Callie, is too young for the shoes she fills. Her character doesn’t behave like she is sixteen, I’d say eighteen at a minimum. Plus she was this age in the first book, Salvation, yet I get the impression more than a year has passed since they were liberated. The other thing I disliked was the slow burn of the story. The first conflict didn’t make an appearance till page 198. I understood why the first part was like it was, but I almost gave up. If I had, I’d have missed the best and most exciting part of the book. I’m so glad I persevered.
Overall: this is an amazing story. There are some great characters, all with their own quirks, strengths, and weaknesses. Many times, my heart was in my mouth, and then a lump would catch in my throat because it became so poignant. All in all, this is a superb series, and I recommend you start with the first book and work your way through it. A must for series, and post-apocalyptic lovers.

The Burning Tree: Book 6: Power (Part One)
This is the next instalment about the survivors of an asteroid that hit the Earth, and wiped out life as we know it.
Even though I found it a little slow to start, I knew that it would hook me eventually. It did, and when that happens my reading hours increased!
Callie and co, have to endure a hard winter and if that isn’t a struggle enough, they receive some bad news. This is where the story really hots up. Suddenly, we are strongly reminded of book one in the series. Now the fight begins…
Although I enjoyed it, there were too many people to keep up with. Apart from the main characters, I had a little trouble remembering who everyone was.
Overall, Christopher Artinian does a great job in keeping this story going, and even more so keeping readers entertained with engaging protagonists and exciting storylines. I highly recommend this whole series.

The Burning Tree: Book 7: Power (Part Two)
This is book seven of the series and I’ve enjoyed all of them. The story starts with Salvation,an underground bunker built to protect the people from an asteroid that hit the earth and wiped out everything.
Each books tells a different story of darkness, survival, and hope.
Power was another exciting read. The main character is Callie, but in this story she takes more of a back seat and others take her place. The action happens in the new town of Redemption, the trading place of Infinity, and the under ground bunker of Salvation, all which are titles of previous books in the series to introduce them to us. By now readers are now very familiar with characters and the place they live. That’s what makes this book compulsive reading.
Throughout the story, there was a repetition of words and sentences. For instance someone would say, ‘what do you think happened back there and the reply would be, ‘what do I think happened back there?’ Just as it was beginning to irritate me, the climax began to build.
And boy, did it build! I thought the ending, which went on for several chapters, was terrific. Action packed and fast paced. I loved it. There was a call to arms, chases down corridors, a dramatic takeover and it was all very exciting.
I almost gave this book four stars, but that ending deserves a magnificent 5! I recommend the book and the whole series.
