Maturing A Children’s Series to Middle Grade For The Holiday
I enjoyed Tish Rabe’s continuation of Dr. Seuess’ legacy. This is a lovely collection of holiday middle grade titles that matures the series. The children’s bookseries have developed with our progressive young readers.
I must say, the first 2 books were my favorite in this collection. I cent they were well-focused and written. The last 2 books were certainly companion books, but they disappointed me in their lack of finesse. While the first books maintained their themes and accomplished the educational lessons intended, the last two seemed rushed. Though all were enjoyable, from an adult standpoint, I just felt the quality diminished, which isn’ttypical of this author. Sorry.
Now, overall, these are entertaining. They are familiar, cozy, and fun. They are joyful additions to the legacy of this brand, so judge for yourselves. My opinion should not influence you, except to spur your curiosity to find your own answers.
