REVIEWED BY J.M. NORTHUPPerfect Read for Season!
I absolutely enjoyed this book. It captured me with endearing friendships, cozy mystery, sweet romance, and snarky humor. Reading it in autumn just enhanced the charm of the Samhain theme and magical cast.
The author created a lovely world. It was realistic with a host of believable characters. The way she blended ideas such as gender fluency with paranormal or supernatural elements was genius.
I definitely recommend this book. It was delightful, easy to read, and engaging. Well done!!

REVIEWED BY KAREN J. MOSSMANPoor Daisy
A short shocking story from Paul White’s collection of Bite sized reads. I’m reading them in order, although they are all standalone and can be read in any order.
It’s starts off ordinarily enough with Daisy talking about her mundane and boring job that she hates. She is looking forward to starting at a new place and couldn’t wait to get through last day at the chocolate factory.
All is going well, ‘til it doesn’t. That’s when the story takes a disquieting turn. I’m glad it didn’t go into too much detail. The author lets the reader use their imagination, except I really didn’t want to, and didn’t. With some things it is best not dwell on them as it’s too unsettling. I was glad to reach the end and when I did, all I could say was, poor Daisy.

REVIEWED BY SAHARA FOLEYA Horrible Death
I was introduced to Cassie in Karen’s novella, called The Killer on the Heath. It’s a dark, paranormal thriller, and you can read my review HERE. So, when I heard Karen had written several short stories in Cassie’s world, I had to read them.
In this title, we get a bit more background into Cassie’s life and how she survives as an empath and a clairvoyant. Seeing, and feeling, the emotional baggage of people who have died a horrible death can’t be easy. However, when Cassie is hired by a grieving mother to contact her deceased daughter, she discovers that true darkness lingers in the hearts of the living, not the dead.
This is the perfect read for people who love short stories with a bit of darkness and a look into the human psyche. I give it 5 stars.
