My Book Review of Homecoming Chaos
Homecoming Chaos by D.W. Brooks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Good Crime Story With Family Tale
I enjoyed this this story. Elements were well researched and believable. The characters were lovely. Jamison is a layered protagonist.
I struggled with the format. Multiple people talking/thinking in a single paragraph is bad form and head hopping – no! Still, the plot was intriguing, even if Jackson’s amateur sleuthing was, at times, a little farfetched. It made for a solid read despite the flaws, earning a 4-star from me in the end.
The author did a great job covering all her bases. She left no stone unturned, so I felt satisfied and finished with a smile. Ultimately, she entertained me, which was the books purpose and what I wanted.
Well done!
