Look At Me (Inspired Kids Book 2) is written by Mary Elizabeth Jackson and Thornton Cline and illustrated by Alice Antimie. A baby’s view of the world around them is an amazing thing. They love to scoot, crawl, and walk around as they explore and discover new things to learn and play with. Blocks and balls present some interesting fun. The soft fur of a cat and its sweet purr is a fun experience, too. The encouragement of knowing their parents are proud of their achievements along the way makes them want to explore even more. Gates that are intended to protect babies present a new learning experience just as well as playful sibling rivalry can.

In Look At Me by Mary Elizabeth Jackson and Thornton Cline, you explore the world through the eyes of a baby as he or she learns new things about their surroundings. I enjoyed how the baby acknowledged the protection of the baby gate and was encouraged to crawl around and explore more of their home. I loved the interaction between the baby and the pets as well because it encourages pet-friendly behavior. The beautiful illustrations by Alice Antimie show how a baby would respond to each new experience. I recommend Look At Me to young children who are ready to learn to read and are interested in how kids learn new things. I hope Jackson, Cline, and Antimie team up for more children’s books like this one in the future. I do not doubt that the Inspired Book series will teach lots of important values and lessons that kids will enjoy reading.
