Cute Story
My granddaughter read this to me. We enjoyed the story and illustrations, but we both questioned a few of the birds’ actions. I was pleased to see how engaged my grandchild was with the tale and how the message landed with her.
I liked the lesson that things you don’t have aren’t necessarily better. Mr. Bird’s reaction to the bell seemed unnatural to both my granddaughter and me. Otherwise, it was a cute tale of discovery.
I recommend it. It was an excellent choice for my budding reader to take the lead on. It created a lovely memory.
