My Book Review of Nightmare Storm

collectionNightmare Storm by Sahara Foley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Disturbingly Haunting

I like psychological tales that make you question reality, and this story does that. It has disturbing elements from sources that ought to be mundane, but somehow aren’t. Or are they?

Viewing the world from inside the rattled mind of the protagonist, you can feel the storm as it brews inside him and not just around Omaha. The style and voice lends a layer of eeriness to the rhythm, adding to the darkness. For me, that was a brilliant move on the authors side because it made it more real and disturbing. I felt as though I was too uncomfortable to fall asleep, which is where the character was.

I recommend this short story. It is original, which is one reason I love Sahara Foley’s work. More so, it is entertaining. You never know what is going to happen next!
