#Bookmuse – Adventures of Alex: Creepy Tree

  • What is the title of your book?
  • Is it a standalone, part of a series, an anthology, or short story?
    • 1st book in a series.
    • Would you tantalize readers with a brief synopsis of the story?
      • A tree comes to life when Alex disobeys his mom. A guilty conscious by wrong doings. The tree becomes legendary in the neighborhood they live in.
  • What inspired this tale?
    • This story was inspired by my son Kory. I wanted a way to earn extra income without taking time from the family. Every day for 2 years, I would write for 45 minutes while skipping lunch at work to write. The main character is based off my son. My dad, son, and my middle name are Alexander, which is shortened to become Alex.
  • Did you have to do any research – if so, what, and why? Did you learn anything new writing this book – if so, what?
    • I learned while writing the story about a character’s traits in the book. What are they like, what do they like to do, etc.
  • Who is the main protagonist of the story?
    • The main protagonist of the story is Alex. One who leads and never make judgements about his friends. It’s all about fun.
    • Do you feel your character is relatable for readers of all ages?
      • I feel my characters are related to every child who reads my stories.  It’s the bridge of what each child likes to do on their free time and that is to have fun. Creating an adventure every day. Whether it is a game of tag or creating a place where they can let their minds be free by imagination.
    • What made you write this character; were they based on a real person or something that inspired you?
      • The Characters were based on what I believed, who was funny in every kid’s sense. Wits, the will to have fun, imagination and what kids like to do.
      • What should readers know about your protagonist?
      • Why are they important to you?
        • These characters are important because they all play a vital role in supporting each other in the book. I don’t have a favorite. I have a story to tell and to make it enjoyable.
    • Do you consider the main character to be good or bad, and why?
      • The characters in the book aren’t good or bad. I would say they are mischievous and fun in their own way.
    • What’s the objective of your character?
      • The object of my character is to create something fun, do something fun while hanging out with his friends.
  • Is there anything specific you’d like readers to know about this piece of work?
    • I would want readers as adults and kids young or old. Not to forget their inner kid. Tell your kids funny stories that happened to you because kids have stories to.
  • Is there a moral or idea you’re trying to convey – if yes, what, and why?
    • There is a moral to this story. It’s the option to listen to your parents or not, there are consequences to all actions good and bad.
  • What was your writing process like?  For example, do you use an outline, or do you let the story flow as you write (“pantser”)?
    • I have to come up with a good title before writing my story. All my titles are positive. From my titles I develop a story line. Turn on some music and let my ideas flow.
  • Do you have a writing routine?  Like, do you get your cup of coffee to write in your office in silence, or do you prefer to sit on the deck with the radio playing in the background?  What atmosphere is conducive to your creativity?
    • I have no writing routine besides listening to music in my ears while writing.
