Meet Jackie Dickson

MEET MY CHARACTER

  1. Tell us about your story:
    • What is the name of your book?
    • What genre is it?
      • Cozy Mystery
    • When and where is your tale set?
      • Modern Day, Virginia Beach, VA the hottest place on Earth.
  2. Who are you?
    • What is your name?
      • Jackie Dickson
    • Are you a fictional or historical character?
      • I had to tell my ‘redneck’ sister, we are fictional, I’m not sure she is happy with that, but this way we can live forever!
    • What’s your role in the story – are you the protagonist or a supporting character?
      • Protagonist. Although my sister Emme Dickson would tell you we are ‘co-ortagonists”. Is that even a word? She’s disgustingly sweet.
    • Are you a human, animal, alien, robot, or something completely different?
      • Human from Boston, Hub of the Universe, yes suh!
    • Do you consider yourself to be good, bad, or indifferent?  Would others agree with this assessment – why, or why not?
      • That depends on the day. I will never be as good and sweet as my sister (thank gawd), but I can be good if I have too. It’s just way more fun to be a bit bad and sometimes you just have to be the bad guy to be a good private investigator.
  3. What do we need to know about you?
    • What is your personal goal?  I mean, what do you ultimately want?
      • We want to find out the truth about our parents. They were apparently into some mysterious, top-secret crap and that landed me and Emme in some secret witness protection program. That put us in Virginia Beach, let me tell you, while its is pretty, it is HOT. My Yankee blood is not happy, not happy.
    • What is standing in your way?  What conflict(s) do you face?
      • My sister. Actually,  there’s quite a few things standing in our way. I mean, the Emme keeps having dead bodies fall on her, no really, she does. Then we have to find out who murdered them, ya know, because she convinces me it is somehow the right thing to do. And then there are some Russians, and other unexplained people who also seem to want to know our parents secrets. It’s exhausting.
    • Why is this goal important to you?  What’s your motivation?
      • In this government program, we have new names, identities, and can’t go back to our real lives unless we find these secrets. I want to be back in Boston ASAP. And I want to know who killed our parents, and why, and I want revenge.
    • If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be, and why?
      • Nothing. I’m pretty darned good as is. Well, as Emme as pointed out, I’m far too blunt to the point of being sarcastic. So, there’s that. I just don’t consider that a flaw.
  4. How do I get a copy of your book?
    • Is it available now, or when can we expect to see it released?
