My Book Review of Kind: a Christmas short story of post-WWII Munich

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A Heartwarming Gem!
I didn’t know what to redirect from this short story. I’ve just been on a reading jag that includes WWI and WWII material. Thankfully, I found this little gem!!
I absolutely loved this story. It transcends time and retains its validity today – supposed enemies finding a connection surprising ways… beautiful!
What I loved is the simplicity of kindness expressed. The way a mundane moment changed Neil’s perspectives… the trust and friendship between Neil, Mike, and the Slades… moving.
What didn’t I like? That too many live the truth this story depicted about war.
If you enjoy historical fiction – well, if you just want to read a moving and heartwarming tale – I recommend this short story. It’s well worth it! View all my reviews
