A Stolen HeartREVIEWED BY TIFFANY

When I started reading A Stolen Heart, I thought it was going to be just a sweet historical novel. And, it is. But, it’s also so much more!
There was mystery and intrigue. There were funny moments, suspenseful scenes, and a few times it made me cry. The town of Cimarron Creek seemed like a run of the mill town, when nothing bad would dare to happen, but they were experiencing a bit of a crime wave.
I enjoyed most of the characters and found myself feeling sorry for Lydia. She traveled so far to be reunited with her fiancé, only to discover that he had married another woman. She finds herself in a town where many of the residents neither resent her because she’s a Yankee or see her only as a potential wife. Even with her circumstances being less than ideal, Lydia has such a sweet, forgiving nature.
Aunt Bertha was definitely one of my favorite characters and my heart hurt for her when she talked about her past.
I thought Travis was an amazing, loyal, protective person and that he was truly perfect for Lydia.
This is the first book I’ve ever read by Amanda Cabot but I can’t wait to read more of her work.
hideREVIEWED BY THERESA HULONGBAYAN

A story of spirits and warnings.

Being a medium is hard especially people’s expectations. Following the guidelines of the unknowing cause more havoc on all hollowed eve then she expected.

A Short Story of learning your lesson the hard way.
Onyx StormREVIEWED BY TIFFANY

“Xaden is mine. My heart, my soul, my everything. He channeled from the earth to save me, and I’ll scour the world until I find a way to save him right back. Even if it takes bargaining with Tecarus for access to every book on the damned Continent or capturing dark wielders one by one to question, I’ll find a cure.”

How does every book in this series manage to captivate me, amuse me, make me love (or hate in some circumstances) each character even more, while breaking my heart at the same time? Onyx Storm is an amazing transition book for the series.
We learn more of the history of the characters, their world, their battle with the venin. While some questions were answered, others were introduced. This was truly an action packed roller coaster of emotions! I laughed, I cried, I raged.
Yarros has such an amazing talent at writing a story that makes me feel like I’ve been plopped down right in the middle of the action to experience it along with the characters. I love the relationship between Violet and Xaden. Her family is just amazing and I love that we get more time with Mira. I even started to like Cat and forgive Dain. His father is abominable though.
I loved getting to see more areas of their world and learning about their individual cultures. I’m looking forward to reading more and I need more scenes with Broccoli in the next book, please!
