REVIEWED BY THERESA HULONGBAYANBeautiful story the second in the series, but can be read alone.
The story of the heroine that is not sure of her place in the world is a common trope but Nisha had changed that with the mystery of the characters history. Its not the fault of the character but the fault of what she does not know.
The whole story shows how understanding your history can influence your own interpretation of your life. The story shows how world building can be a mystery, and the characters can expose the history and problems of the world.

REVIEWED BY TIFFANY“Some of us are broken enough that we don’t get to be fixed. And maybe we’re better off that way. Not hiding from the damage like everyone else. Just accepting it and figuring out how to work around it. Just like we’re doing. Like you’re doing.” His gaze meets hers and holds it. “It takes guts to face the worst of yourself, the worst of your fears.”
Holy crow this book was amazing!! It was creepy in all the right ways. There have been movies that made me think space exploration is a bad idea but this book made me think that my feet are staying on the ground and I hope we never find out about life on other planets!
S.A. Barnes truly took horror in space to an all new level. Every moment of this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Barnes truly has a talent at blending horror and sci-fi in a way that almost creates a whole new genre. This is the second book of hers that I’ve read and both had me feeling like I was in the middle of the action.
And her characters? I loved the interactions between them. I love how the teams she writes feels like a family. They pick on each other but they’re there for each other no matter what.
Liana was definitely my favorite character in this book. And, I could really relate to how both Ophelia and Ethan had so much trouble forgiving themselves for their pasts. It can be difficult to truly let go of the trauma of the past and not let it shape your present and future. Their inner struggles were portrayed so well in this book.
Keep writing, S.A. Barnes. I can’t wait to read more of your writing.

I enjoyed reading The Oil Change Grandpa’s Garage. First, I was excited by the title because the garage was my dad’s playroom. He could fix anything in there, so I purchased the book thinking this would be great for my grandson, only to discover it was great for me, too. There were so many beautiful memories of my own that came rushing back from my childhood.
My grandson is young, but I will enjoy reading it to him and sharing memories. When he is older, I will even get under the car with him.

REVIEWED BY TIFFANY“Roses have petals and thorns, my dark flower. You needn’t think something weak because it appears delicate. Show the world your bravery.”
The Hades and Persephone story has always been one of my favorite Greek myths and there have been other retellings. But, Olivia Wildenstein took her retelling of the story and ran with it, making the story completely her own. It is in a class of its own.
This dual point of view, reality/dreamscape perspective was an entirely new perspective. And mixing it with Sleeping Beauty, which is my favorite fairytale, took things to a new level! I was completely swept away by the Atlantean gods with power, who people thought were mob bosses.
Those in Tarian’s inner circle were so dynamic and well written, even those that I ultimately hated. I loved their wit and the interactions with the family members that Tarian and Callanthe could truly trust. And, Callanthe was a complete BA heroine who wasn’t afraid to stand up to those with power, even though she didn’t have any.
I loved every moment of this story. It was suspenseful, descriptive, and fully immersive. I know that Olivia says she isn’t sure if there will be more stories in this world, with these characters but I dearly hope there will be. After all, there could be prequels, and I feel like Malachi and Electra need to find happily ever afters of their very own. Besides, there are many storylines that I’d love to see tied up and I’d love to see more of Atlantis!
To be honest, Olivia is just one of those authors that I will always want to read their work. I don’t even need a synopsis to know I want to read it. Her stories are always right up my alley.

REVIEWED BY ROB JONESAn enjoyable and entertaining story.
CeeKee The Mermaid Cop is a delightful and charming children’s picture book written by J.M. Northup and Shelly Pearl with captivating illustrations by Surya Ali Zaidan. The story centers on the friendship of Lynsie and CeeKee, a mermaid who patrols the beach. An incident occurs when Rew, their friend, does something to Lynsie that is not friendly. CeeKee and her seahorse, Lilypad, come to help Lynsie and make everything okay. This moment allows the friends to learn to respect and be kind to one another.
Shelly Pearl and J.M. Northup uniquely communicate the universal truths of the importance of forgiveness and understanding. Children and adults will benefit and find enjoyment from this lovely story. I highly recommend this book.
