A lovely Middle Grade Book
I really enjoyed this book. It had beautiful illustrations, witty rhymes, and a loving message. It is a great gift idea for children 8-12 years of age.
I do not see this as a proper title for the suggested ages 3-6. It is something younger children would enjoy reading with their parents, for sure, but it is too mature in style for them. The concepts and language are above their heads. However, it is a perfect book for teaching empathy and kindness to our elementary school kids. As our littles are headed into school, this would be a great book to give them.
I do recommend this story. It is something parents should read and discuss with their kids. It will make great memories as well as lessons.
