My Book Review of The Bad Seed

The Bad Seed by Jory John
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Great Story of Coping & Hope

This is a cute book to help kids deal with trauma. It helps illustrate healing with the growth of coping as a little seed progresses through natural stages of anger, hurt, isolation, and resentment to come out understanding how and why to grow past it.

Definitely for older kids – middle grade level – this book creates a good place for parents & caregivers to open a conversation. It helps show how one’s emotions can control their behavior, ultimately affecting those around them. It also shows how changing your ways not only changes others views, but your views of yourself and helps you to become healthier.

Great illustrations. Adorable – they were fitting and helped soften the intense topic.

A necessary book to help kids deal with difficulties without being judgmental – just explaining cause and effect. Well done!!
