Every November,  writers everywhere face the challenge of NaNoWriMo because it is National Writing Novel Month.  According to https://nanowrimo.org/what-is-nanowrimo, this starts as a challenge in 1999 and the goal is: “to write 50,000 words of a novel during the thirty days of November.”
